ESSA to partner with university consortium RUFORUM
We are proud to announce our partnership with The Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture (RUFORUM).
Owned and managed by Africans, RUFORUM is a consortium of 125 African universities operating within 38 countries spanning the African continent. RUFORUM is coordinated by a Secretariat hosted by Makerere University in Kampala, Uganda.
RUFORUM supports universities to address the important role that universities play in contributing to the well‐being of small‐scale farmers and the economic development of countries throughout the sub‐ Saharan Africa region.
Both ESSA and RUFROUM recognise that agriculture, science, technology, and engineering education is in high demand in Africa. This is due to the increasing need for science, technology, and innovation to drive knowledge-based economic and societal change.
There is a need for more colleges and universities to deliver high-quality training and learning in these areas, in order to provide young people with the skills for work and the skills to drive this change in their communities and countries.
We will collaborate on activities contributing towards this goal. There will be a focus on research and evidence in agriculture, science and technology education.
We are proud to announce our partnership with @ruforumsec - leaders in research and advocacy in higher education.
