Patrick is also Chair of the EY Foundation, Boardelta and a Trustee of the Chartered Management Institute. He is the founder of Warwick in Africa, a Visiting Professor at Cranfield School of Management, a visiting Fellow at Warwick Business School as well as the author of "Boards".

His previous executive career was with international investor 3i Group plc, previously as Communications Director and a member of its Operating Committee.
